An Advisory Library Board of the Gilbreath Memorial Library was established May 29, 2001.

An Advisory Board fulfills an important role by providing an avenue for public participation in planning library policies and services. Some of the responsibilities of such a board are to meet regularly, share plans and ask for ideas, and to keep abreast of the latest developments in library service and see that the local library does not lag behind.

 An active Advisory Board has the opportunity to be involved and  influential in library development without having the responsibility for operational details.
