Gilbreath Memorial is fortunate to have a wide range of clubs which support and provide funding for library material and activities not made available through other sources.

The Standard Club

Since 1910, The Standard Club has been a staunch supporter of the Library.  In addition to raising money for books each year, Standard Club members volunteer at the library and are advocates of literacy and the enhancement of programs for children and adults.

Each April, The Standard Club holds their annual Library Benefit Tea to raise funds to purchase books. It is an annual anticipated event that not only raises monies but unites the community towards the betterment of the Library.

The Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library was formed to support and uphold the goals of the Library.  Their members work hard throughout the year providing programs and events to not only raise monies for the Library, but to enrich the quality of life within the community.

The Friends, through their tireless work, have provided shelving, display cases, bike racks, summer programming, computers, furniture, and books and videos as well as numerous items that normal funding would not cover.
