Who We Are
The Gilbreath Memorial Public Library is located at 916 N. Main, Winnsboro, Texas. As a tri-county library the Gilbreath Memorial Library provides free services to all residents living within the city and Wood, Franklin and Hopkins counties. However, the library also provides services to residents in the state of Texas through our TexShare program.
Gilbreath Memorial Library was established at its current location in 1987. The library strives hard to meet the needs of patrons who live in Franklin, Wood, and Hopkins counties. The beautiful 6,000 sq. ft. building houses over30, 000 books, 4,000+ in audio and video/DVD selections, a growing large print section, a wide variety of periodicals and Internet and Wi-Fi access to the public.
In total, 64,000 items were checked out of the library during fiscal year 2009-2010! In addition to these items, thousands of people visited the library to utilize print and electronic reference resources, access microfilm, access the Internet through the Library’s high speed connection, enjoy state-of-the-art Wi-Fi service, participate in Summer Reading programs, view a Library exhibit or display, or attend one of the Library’s many events or tours given each year.
